W. Peter Temling is a hands-on CFO, controller and financial advisor with extensive experience in hospitality, clubs, gaming, real estate, senior living, travel and multi-entity organizations. Through The Temling Group, he provides interim CFO, controller, treasury, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and strategic advisory services to privately held, investor-backed and entrepreneurial businesses.

Most recently, Mr. Temling served as Controller of Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort in New Mexico, where he reduced the monthly closing cycle from 20 days to seven days, led a QuickBooks Desktop-to-Online migration and developed operating dashboards for golf, food and beverage, labor and profitability.

Previously, as Corporate Director of Finance for Hospitality Asset Management Company, Inc., he directed accounting, treasury, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and operational finance for a hospitality ownership structure consisting of 25 legal entities and more than 40 bank accounts. His work included strengthening consolidated reporting, balance-sheet reconciliations, internal controls, cash forecasting and audit readiness.

Earlier, Mr. Temling was a partner, board member, minority shareholder, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Carnival Resorts and Casinos/The Continental Companies. The organization grew from six hotels to more than 80 hotels and four casinos, employed more than 15,000 associates and operated across 35 states and six countries. He directed accounting, treasury, banking, tax, reporting, capital planning and other financial functions.

Before Continental, Mr. Temling served on ITT Sheraton preopening teams for major international hotels in Europe, Latin America and Asia. His career encompasses the opening, development, financing or operation of hotels, resorts, casinos, clubs and related projects.

Mr. Temling chaired the American Hotel & Lodging Association Committee on Financial Management and the revision committees responsible for the Ninth and Tenth Editions of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry. He later served on the Eleventh Edition committee and was elected a director of Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals.

For approximately three decades, he served Baptist Health South Florida through board and committee assignments, including audit, compliance and compensation committee leadership. He has also served as an expert witness and arbitrator in hospitality matters.
